Please help get Barb healed & home to her family

Hi, my name is Jackie Krystofik and I need your help. My brother and sister in law, Mike and Barbara Skirtun and their family traveled to San Diego from New Jersey to attend her nephews wedding. On 5/27, As they exited a Lyft vehicle after a day of sightseeing, her and a family member were struck and run over by a car that fled the scene and who still has not been caught. Unconscious and badly injured, she was transported to the hospital. Barbara has serious injuries. She suffered a crushed pelvis, shattered cheek/eyesocket, a brain bleed, concussion and back injuries. She has already undergone two surgeries and may need more in the near future. She will need to remain in the hospital for an unknown amount of time. She also will need to stay in San Diego additional time for follow up visits. My brother Mike has remained in California with her, her adult children needed to return home, having to leave her bedside while she remained in the hospital.

I am asking for your donations, no matter how big or small, to help offset their cost for deductibles, the medical bills incurred, for housing while they remain there, and for her travels back to New Jersey. My brother clearly will be out of work for an unknown amount of time to stay with her there and help care for her during her healing period when they return home.

We are unsure how she will need to travel. The expenses may include first class seating with a bed for her to be able to lay down during the long flight back to NJ. We are unsure.

Barb is an amazing woman, who has a love for her family that is immeasurable. She is a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend who we are all lucky and blessed to still have here with us. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please help the Skirtun family if you can.
