Please help Gerald complete his brain cancer treatment
Donation protected
Dear friends, kind souls, and anyone who can help,
I never imagined I’d have to write something like this, but life can change in an instant. My dear friend, Gerald is facing the toughest battle of his life and we really need the support we can get from everyone.
Gerald was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. It was a devastating shock, but he faced it with the same strength and courage that defines him. As a student, he had his whole future ahead of him, but everything changed when his health began to deteriorate. The university covered the cost of an urgent brain surgery, and for that, we are incredibly grateful. However, the surgeons were only able to remove part of the tumour. The fight is far from over, and we need to act fast to make sure he gets the treatment he needs.
What Gerald only recently found out, and what none of us were prepared for, is that while the university paid for his surgery, they will not cover the cost of his radiotherapy or further cancer treatment. This news has left him in an impossible situation. He has no family supporting him financially, and because of his condition, he has had to stop working. With no source of income, he now faces the overwhelming cost of (66,000 cedis) for treatment, not including the weekly tests he needs to monitor his condition.
This isn’t just about raising money, it’s about saving Gerald’s life. He is one of the most hardworking, kind-hearted, and brilliant people I know. He has always been there for others, always supporting and believing in me, and now he needs us more than ever.
Please, if you are able, consider donating. No amount is too small, and every penny will help get Gerald closer to the treatment he desperately needs. If you cannot donate, please share this fundraiser. The more people who see this, the greater the chance we have of giving Gerald a fighting chance.
Time is not on our side, it's become very urgent, but I believe in the power of community, kindness, and generosity and that God will make a way to bring people to this page who can help donate towards the treatment he needs to survive. He is only 28 and I cannot imagine the emotional toil this has taken on his mental health. Please help.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
