Please can we all just help Georgina get home!

Hi all, I am trying to raise funds for a friend who really is in a horrible situation, she has been a resident and Estate agent in Dubai for over 10 years and has paid thousands into the country and system over the years in rent and living costs and visas and much more, last year she suffered a horrendous tragedy when her partner Andrew of several years died in his bed unexpectedly from a bloodcot to the brain overnight in his mortgaged apartment in Dubai, as it was his home and not hers and they were not married she has been left with no help and homeless, the apartment is currently going through foreclosure, she had previously given up her own rented apartment on the Palm a year earlier and had agreed with her landlady to vacate before the contract ended, the landlady was happy to do this via a verbal agreement at the time and re rented the property and apparently re rented for a higher price very quickly as expected, however since then she has made a claim against Georgina for 30000 dirhams plus costs for unpaid rent, Georgina apparently knew nothing about this and had used all her funds just to tie up loose ends and pay off debts after Andrew’s death and help her live whilst she tried to adjust to the trauma that happened in September last year and all she wanted to do was just get back to the UK where she could start again after her partners death, she also has two beautiful doggies and had to plan and pay to get them back to London, with help from myself and a few others she managed to do this and I also booked her a flight home in February and all was looking positive, she has also borrowed the funds of 15000 dirhams from myself to send the doggies home which was absolutely fine and a fair arrangement was made, but there were also fees for temporary homes and vet bill costs which she had to pay on top and other costs now associated with her extended stay waiting to pay off the 30000 including visa renewal, unforeseen bills, food, accommodation and living costs and now flight changes ‍♀️, she has not been working since her partners death and had used the funds she had, her partners account has also been locked so funds have been very low so help from myself and a few others has been essential during this time whilst she gets her finances in order.

On the day of travel with her doggies, she was stopped on exit at Dubai airport, they would not let her leave Dubai, she was only then told about the claim of 30k dirhams minimum by the previous landlady plus costs, she has had no notification before then, this has caused a travel ban, she did not have the funds to pay and had no access to this amount of funds, she was confused and bewildered and in the process lost her laptop and some other items from stress and being told to go here and go there and being taken to the side, she was then not allowed to fly at all, she was told she could contest and appeal but it would take time and legal help/cost which is more cost, her dogs continued their journey on this flight and Georgina was made to stay in Dubai with no access to a home or accommodation, she had to beg and borrow again to secure temporary accommodation, this has been going on for 5 weeks now, her dogs are in the UK with a friend who thankfully has picked them up and taken them in but only temporarily, she has asked the embassy for help but they have provided nothing other than paperwork with advice how to appeal, no financial help and no support and nowhere to live, she has asked friends for help , some have given her what they can, including myself but it’s not enough to clear this along with other costs, she has slept on sofas and stayed at cheap hotels, she has received some funds from the UK as she has a 1 bedroom flat in London which she rents out, she receives a surplus on top as her mortgage is low so she plans to remortgage once settled and working again in the UK and can pay any money back she has borrowed as she has equity but she just can’t access any money now as she’s not working and has now sold any assets she had in Dubai to pay off expenses since October last year and other debts, the living costs in Dubai have also become so expensive, can we all just help her get home?, if we all give just a little bit she can get home and start again and pay back any funds borrowed once she’s home and settled.

I am not based in Dubai anymore but do keep topping her up where I can via western union, the flight I got her is on hold from February so she can use it once the fine of 30k is cleared and the travel ban is lifted, she will need to pay to change it but at least it can still be used, she wants to contest the issue but feels it’s pointless at the moment and can’t afford to currently, she is becoming more and more negative and depressed, struggling to have any focus, she is eating minimally and relying on handouts, she has been to court but has not been given any help on how to proceed legally, someone else said she may have to pay more to clear this due to other factors but so far we have confirmed she only has to pay the 30000 dirhams plus costs to clear the travel ban to get home and then appeal from the UK, or contest the issues from there later, she has also tried to appeal to the landlord at that time who has now sold the property but she just threatened Georgina very aggressively and has blocked her so does not want to resolve with Georgina this way.

Georgina is stuck in limbo, she is lost and cries all day and just wants to go home and be with her dogs, she has no mum or dad and she does have other family but none that can help financially but once home she can start work and get a loan and pay back anything she borrowed up to now and via here to whoever requests it back, I have also tagged her here so everyone can see it’s a genuine case and she just needs a little help

She’s the sort of person that would help anyone with anything if she can and anyone who knows her can vouch for this but she has definitely got herself into a difficult situation due to terrible unforeseen circumstances and is struggling to get out and needs some help and guidance, I am helping her as much as I can but need more help to help her, I’m sure none of us would want to be in this situation and if we were we would hope help would come, even if you can just spare a little, I will lend her more and I’m hoping enough people can also help to make it happen for her to get home safe and sound and start again
