Please Help Gene Dahlquist Overcome Medical Crisis

My stepfather, Gene Dahlquist, had an undiagnosed incarcerated hernia which led to the shutdown of several organs and a resection of his lower intestine. It was at this point emergency surgery was a must to save his life. My mom and Gene currently live in Mexico and although they do have insurance, it will not cover all of his medical expenses and what it will cover, is minimal compared to the amount of that they have accumulated and will continue plan to accumulate through the upcoming months of physiotherapy needed to get his strength and mobility back.

Unfortunately, they have maxed out their credit cards and are struggling to pay for additional months at a rehab facility. They are grateful and blessed for the exceptional care they have received from the doctors and nurses that have attended to Gene.

Although Gene has recovered well from the surgery, he faces a long road ahead of him with physiotherapy. Despite this, his spirits are up and his attitude is good. I never thought I would ever do a fundraiser like this but when it comes to “Papa”, my boys grandfather, I feel I must as he has always been there for us.

If you are able to contribute anything, it would be greatly appreciated, prayers are very much welcomed. My mom and Gene are proud and were reluctant to do this but at this point, they have very few options. So I’m reaching out to everyone for help. Please don’t feel obligated and please keep Gene and my mom, in your thoughts and prayers.
