EDIT- Sammie had her first surgery on 8/10. It was massive and the surgeon said she must have her other leg done as soon as she recovers from this one. About 8 weeks. So...I raised the goal but of course, have no expectations of anything. Poor girl is having the worst time ever right now. I really can't wait until she is through with all of it and can be completely healthy and out of pain.
Hi, the beautiful girl in the picture is Sammie, a 3 yo Golden mix I rescued last October. She is a highly anxious girl, terrified of city sounds, conscious of every person, car, & sound we come across on our walks (the 4th was so scary). But with a lot of time, encouragement, training, medicine, love, and trust, she's become a loving, goofy, fun, & playful part of our family. She is better outside, and sometimes even stops to say hello to other dogs. And she LOVES to chase birds, squirrels, and rabbits, but it hurts her knees. When I first took her to my vet, he said she has a severe case of patellar luxation and needs surgery as soon as possible. Not something I expected nor can afford. But I put it off mainly because it was necessary to attend to her anxiety and transition before adding any other stress to her. Now that she wants to chase rabbits and play with us at home, she's in a lot more pain and we've had to give her pain medicine to get her through until we can get her surgery done. I have already paid a lot to treat her anxiety and need your help covering the surgery. Please, if you can...
