Please Help Fund Ollie’s Critical Surgery
Donation protected
On Sunday August 4th, around 7 in the evening, Ollie was attacked. He had just gone out in the backyard to relax when he heard two other dogs on the sidewalk out front. I saw him go around the corner to peek out from the slots in the fence. However, the next thing I heard was the terrifying cries and barks of a dog fight. I rushed around the corner to find he was confronted by two much larger dogs than him, and quickly got in the middle to separate. The other dog’s owner pulled back one of the dogs while I picked up Ollie and kept the second dog at bay with my body in between.
I rushed Ollie inside while my fiancée grabbed towels to wrap Ollie in. It didn’t take long to realize, though, that one of the dogs had put some sizable bites into his back. We quickly raced to the emergency vet, and after some triage, learned that the injuries were worse than we feared.
Ollie had a hernia develop on his upper stomach, which doctors feared would become life threatening if not immediately dealt with. This was in addition to the numerous wounds on his back.
Ollie’s initial surgery estimate is $5000, with follow up care he needs estimated to be around $1000-$1500 more. The funds will be applied directly to his hospital ER stay, post-op check ups, and the vaccinations he will need as follow up items.
Anything you’re able to give will help Ollie get back to being the fun-loving pup he’s been since he came home from the Humane Society many years ago.
Thank you so much for your time.
