My name is Stacy. I am a mother of 5 kids and 4 of them live at home with 3 of them having special needs. I am the parent CNA of my middle 10 year old son as well who has autism with a brain injury. I have currently left my long time husband after years of dealing with abusive behaviors, mostly verbal and emotional but also includes some physical and sexual abuse at some points, of both me and all of my 5 children especially my 2 oldest. I hit my ultimate breaking point a little under a month ago when an incident happened where I triggered an anger explosion at myself, where he started yelling at me and calling me all sorts of names, in front of 2 of our little boys over what I was fixing for them for school lunch. After telling me he hated me, he took off in my car with our little boys in an angry rage. I decided hours later that I was done with him and everything me and family had had to endure with him. Days later, after being displaced from my house because I couldn’t be around him once he knew I was leaving I was seeking assistance at the local women’s shelter and I decided to get a protective order to restrain him from me and the kids right now as well as the house we live in together. This was after a few more incidents of harassment and verbal attacks and personal property destructions. A midst all this happening, some other things in life have become very hard, especially financially. My husband had lost his job in August, like he does every 6 months to a year, which has caused many bills to fall behind and rent to be behind, once again. I felt like we needed to put 30 days notice into our landlord because we can’t pay the rent anymore and I want to move to a house with the 4 kids that will keep them away from their abusive Dad as well as safe. I currently have part time income and because I have 3 special needs boys whom I take to and from ABA therapy (special school they go to) every day and various doctors appointments and other therapies, etc., I can’t have another job until we have settled things with our current landlord and we move to a location that will be close to boys school and give me time to have another job. Our landlord is also trying to get us out of the house by the 15th of October and they have been very hard to deal with. I have been trying to work with them but the time constraints they have put on me have caused an emergency situation. I am finding that I need emergency funds to help pay for all the moving expenses and new rental house that we need right away and also some other expenses to maintain my reliable mode of transportation. It’s very hard to ask for help but I am reaching out to whoever is willing help me and my 4 kids to get to a better life. Anything donated is incredibly appreciated.
