Hi, I'm Spencer, and I am traveling to Tanzania in October 2025 to volunteer with the Go Mad Charity.
As part of my school's volunteer team, we'll be involved in various activities, including the construction of
- water tanks for rainwater collection to help bring bring free, safe and clean rain water to families and communities
- latrines to improve the hygiene for local communities and prevent the spread of disease in the village
- low cost houses for widows, orphans and the very poor
- building goat sheds to provide safe housing and protection for the goats - we'll will even be bringing a goat with us that we have the chance to name!
I am embarking on a series of fundraising activities to support the travel costs of approximately £2,800. Along with my peers, I’ve started organising several fundraising events, including an afternoon music concert and a sponsored bike ride from London to Brighton. I'll provide updates on my activities before, during, and after the trip here.
