Please help fund Macy’s ankle surgery

Hi, my names Tyler Reynolds. I’m a proud doggy dad to Macy. She is a mixed breed and the most loving genuine playful dog I’ve ever had the pleasure of caring for. We love going on hikes, off roading in the side by side, following me on my long board, chasing rc cars, following drones, and going for swims in the lake. She is my absolute everything and goes everywhere with me. We were recently outside playing with my rc car that she enjoys chasing and she tripped while running full speed, face planted into the ground, and screamed for her life. I ran to her faster than I ran track back in my grade school days. I immediately knew something was very wrong so I carried her up my three flights of stairs to my apartment, laid her down on her bed and noticed her foot was turned sideways and starting to turn blue. I immediately called a number of vet clinics, but unfortunately this happed around 7pm which is after hours. I knew I had to take her to the ER now because she was in excruciating pain and crying. Doing everything I could to keep her as comfortable as possible, I called blue pearl emergency in Nashville and let them know what happened and that I was on my way. By the time we got there, about 45 minutes after the incident, Macy had calmed down but I would say she was in shock. She’s never had any injuries or anything that needed the emergency room. After getting her checked into blue pearl we waited a while longer before the doctor was able to see her.

Doctors notes - Macy presented to blue pearl for acute onset lameness after falling. Physical examination today (5/3) revealed normal vital signs. Macy was bright and alert, gums were pink and moist, heart and lungs ausculted normally, pulses were strong and synchronous, and abdominal palpitation revealed no abdominal discomfort. Macy was limping on her left rear leg. There was swelling and pain along the outside of the left rear paw just below the ankle. Minimal blood panel showed normal internal organ function. Radiographs of the affected leg showed fractures of the metatarsal bones (long bones on foot) and tarsus is luxated. Due to the complication of the injury, Macy will require an anthrodeses of the tarsus. Anthrodesis, also known as artificial ankylosis or sundesis, is the artificial induction of joint ossification between two bones by surgery. I’ve already had to pay $970 for the emergency visit and the doctors estimated betweek 4-5k for the surgery.
