Hi, my name is George and I am fundraising for an incredible Registered Nurse who has stage 3 cancer, my sister, Sherri. Due to this illness she has had no income for many months and has exhausted all of her savings and retirement. She is currently living in an owned double wide trailer with many issues that are becoming very serious including a leaking roof (starting to rot), broken/inoperable plumbing and rotting floors (I will include a detailed list at the end of this fundraiser). Sherri as a single mother has raised four (4) children and has dedicated her life as an RN. While working she contracted Covid (in 2021) and has been unable to return to work and has been challenged with long haul symptoms making it impossible to work. She was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer in April of 2023 and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments which have been very debilitating. Needless to say, Sherri's savings and retirement income is non existant. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated. Any amount will go directly to Sherri to fix her trailer. Sherri lives in Woodbourne, NY (Sullivan County) and is dealing with the cold winter. In addition she has had two (2) incidences where people started work and did not return to finish. It is for this reason I have become involved to properly vet certified contractors. I now have proper estimates and vendors have agreed to finish work before being paid. We are also open (and appreciative) of anyone/businesses who can assist that live in the area. She also has an inoperable car that we would like to have fixed so she is mobile ($2,000 in repairs).

Here is what we hope to have repaired.

1. Roof leaking when rains or snow melts due to age of roof, past patch repairs have been ineffective. The whole roof including under support has to be replaced.

A. Kitchen ceiling in need of removal of sheetrock, insulation, rotted lumber due to water damage.

B. Repair kitchen ceiling. Insulate, sheetrock, spackle and paint. (This should cover circular hole in ceiling where old light uses to be).

C. Mold (treat for removal of exisitng mold)

2. Winterize to prevent freezing pipes, conserve heat.

A. Replace missing/broken skirting (started with T111 in front)

B. Insulate plumbing..

C. Check currrent heat tape is sufficient to protect all plumbing

D. Check that heat ducts are all connected, insulated to prevent heat loss.

E. Back door does not fit right..major gaps causing huge drafts..I have to cover Door for winter to keep cold out, heat in.

F. Storm door for front of house.

G. Storm/screens for windows..there are none.

H. Replace missing exterior siding.

I. Replace missing exterior soffets

J. Skirting around deck.

3. Bathroom #2 (only functioning one)

A. Remove tub surround to replace broken faucet..(shower does not work) reattach tub surround and tile.

4. Kitchen

A. Repair ceiling

B. Fix drawers base or replace

C. Sink base repair or replace from old leak smells moldy

D. Cabinet to left of stove missing door and drawer repair or replace

E. Hook up dishwasher per code needs own electric outlet under sink per electrician.

F. Hook outlets in kitchen and dining room half wall to wires under house

G. Change stove back to electric. (NYban on gas stoves)

H. Patch hole in sheetrock above sink where old light was

5. Master bath

Gutted due to broken frozen pipes

I have 50% of materials to finish (contractor never finished) but I am still in need of hardboard for base to floor, tile for floor, tile for shower, mastic, grout, lumber for build ins to either side of sink, lumber for toilet/closet, tile for shower, doors for toilet/closet, faucet for tub, pex plumbing to toilet, bath, shower, sink and electric to lights/vent.

6. Closet in room

Repair rotted floor(from past leak) and tile for floor

7. Install porch lights

8. Paint

9. Car (8 codes), car has many warning lights on and has been to two car repair shops indicating $2,000 to repair. I can provided more specifics by request. A mechanic in the area who can help would be welcomed as well!
