** UPDATED SEE BELOW**
This is my beloved Archie.

On Saturday, December 18th 2021 Archie was involved in a hit and run incident in Maroubra NSW. Luckily with the help of my beautiful friends and people in our community he was found and taken to a nearby veterinary clinic.
Archie has several superficial cuts and abrasions on his legs and face, he has bruising on his lungs and his front right leg has been dislocated at the elbow joint so badly that there is a risk of severe nerve damage, possibly losing feeling in his leg and worst case scenario resulting in amputation.

After meeting in Alice Springs NT, I quickly fell in love with this amazing and talented camp dog that has come to mean the absolute world to me like you could not believe, we have been together for 6 years now, travelling to multiple parts of Australia and exploring so many magical places together.

Sydney veterinary costs are quite high due to the education levels and high standards of equipment and training the animal doctors and nurses need to care for our beloved animal friends. Anyone else who has been in a similar situation where an unforeseen event like this has lead them to an emergency clinic would know how stressful it is to go through, however these vets and nurses have bent over backwards for Archie and I to ensure that he receives the best treatment and care he can get to continue to live as pain free as possible. For me, this is an incomprehensible amount of money I do not have, however I can not let him go, therefore there is no other option.

Archie is my entire world and the amount of work, time, effort and infinite love I have put into him over the years is not about to stop now. I need your help. I have never asked for anything like this before, I so immensely struggle asking for help and any kind of financial help from anyone for myself but I am extremely desperate and have no idea how I am going to come up with the money to cover these bills to keep him here on earth.

There is still a lot of waiting and wondering how much everything is going to cost as we will have to wait and see how he heals and how bad the nerve damage could be and whether any more future treatment is needed.

Anything left over from this fund after Archie’s treatment will be donated to an animal shelter/welfare organisation/donated to another go fund me which I will keep everyone updated on.

I know Archie has touched many peoples lives. He is complimented daily for his calm, gorgeous and empathetic nature which is amazingly special. He is a friend to many and a life companion to me. Any form of assistance toward Archie’s medical treatment will greatly be  appreciated and mean the world to me, thank you xx

**** Archie's leg would not go back into place without surgery, therefore he needed to be operated on today (19/12/21) instead of tomorrow. I have been told it went well however it is going to be a long road to recovery for at least the next 10 weeks or so. He will stay in the veterinary hospital for a few more days whilst we wait and see how he recovers. Even with all the support from my wonderful workplace I will still need to take a bit of time off work to be with him whilst he adjusts to this temporary new lifestyle. Respiratory  function is questionable at this stage but looking to hopefully improve with time, love and care <3
