Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read this.
My name is Eva, I am fundraising for Fred Yu.
Fred needs your help to get through this year! Despite many misfortunes throughout his life, Fred has always been a generous person to whomever needed his help. He did not get defeated after tragedy and tragedy and he has never given up on anything or anyone before, but this time, Fred really needs your help to get through the toughest time of all. Your support is key to keeping Fred surviving this hereditary heart-related stroke, doctors are hopeful for his optimal recovery, but without financial support right now, Fred may only survive for another few months.
Fred had a stroke a few weeks ago, just when he needed money the most to support his life, he got robbed by identity theft, not only does he have no money to pay for food and rent, he also is in thousands of debts to deal with from identity theft. Though the bank is trying to get his debts off his account, there is no money to pay for anything else right now. To get this identity theft problem fixed, it may take up 6 months to a year. He is on medications now to prevent another stroke and heart failure while waiting on his next heart surgery. These medications make him very drowsy and lethargic throughout the day and so he is not able to carry out one single task like going to the bank and sitting for hours to deal with the identity problems. The stroke also changed his brain chemistry and he is currently depressed, overwhelmed and not able to handle information normally (side effects from the medications). Just two weeks ago before some procedures, his life expectancy was determined to be the end of this year, now he has a chance to fix the heart issues with two upcoming surgeries and perhaps have a normal life expectancy. Unfortunately, these surgeries are not available instantly and he needs to wait for months for them to happen. While on the wait, he is on certain medications that are very costly, one of them costs over $800 a month and his health insurance does not cover it. Without your support, Fred and his 79 year old mom will soon lose their home and possibly their lives.
A little more about Fred:
Fred grew up in a poor family, his father was a great artist but never had much income to support the family, and his mother had to stay home to take care of two children. Fred never had enough food to eat, he was always underweight and his school had to intervene for possible child abuse, but it was just because there was no food, not anything else.
Both Fred and his sister were very hard-working persons, they both performed well in academics and graduated from the Bronx Science High School and NYU. It was never easy for Fred to get the tuition paid, he had to work 6-8 jobs aside from school work to get to graduation.
Fred majored in film and television at NYU but ended up working in Wall Street for decades, banks recognized his intelligence and talents rather than the film and television industry did. He had to survive, so he gave up his artistic dreams, he had to support the family, and he supported everyone he was around with indeed.
Fred got married to a beautiful, smart, good-hearted wife, who gave birth to two beautiful children. His future looked promising after getting married. Both of the couples had decent jobs, they bought a house and cars, and everything seemed perfect. But, with all the misfortune from his childhood, things just got worse and worse. His beautiful 18 months old baby boy suddenly went down and became brain dead, no doctors could tell what happened to the baby boy, all was known was that they found him unresponsive, facing down with white foam coming out from his mouth with the bluish, cold body from a nap. The family suddenly got torn by this tragedy, no one was able to smile or talk to each other with calm manners ever since. The wife was crying every day and night, everyone was trying to point fingers at each other, she had to escape, she didn't want to stay home anymore. Fred had to make sure everything runs normally for the daughter to grow up as normal as it can be, so he continued working in the corporation in hopes that he would find cures for the baby boy, and support everyone so no one crashes so hard. He was mostly the father and the mother for the daughter from birth to her teenage years, life support for his brain-dead son in a wheelchair 24/7, and countless episodes that the son's air tube got blocked and the boy would turn blue, gasping for air, Fred became an expert in resuscitating his son back. After 10 years of struggling, the couple found divorce is the answer to a new beginning for each other, and they split. The son also finally gave up and died at age 11.
Among this tragedy in his life, his mom got diagnosed with late-stage stomach cancer, luckily, Fred helped fight it off of her. Then, his bad-tempered father got disabled from a bad stroke, which gave a tremendous burden to the family and Fred handled it well for everyone.
His beloved sister got diagnosed with late-stage stomach cancer soon after his son's death, it was like his whole world just got doomed again. He would not show, but he was so scared, he was constantly fighting the fear of losing his best friend, partner in crime, his wing warrior sister, he could not sleep, and he was never able to sleep well. He lost his sister after a year of hell. After losing his son, his sister, his father (who died when Covid hit), and his favorite aunt, who took good care of him when he was a toddler, also got a stroke and passed away. Fred has no one now that is relatively close to him, but his elderly mother.
Let us come together and donate to this cause to help someone who is fighting to become normal again. And most importantly, let us all keep Fred in our thoughts and wish him a speedy, successful recovery!
Thank you again in advance for your generosity and greatness. May God bless you all.
