Foothills Robotics Team 6888 is a community based FIRST Robotics competition team. High school age students had 6 weeks to plan, build, and program their robot from scratch to compete in their first completion this past weekend
at UNC Asheville. Their robot performed well and earned them a spot in the semi finals over the weekend. On the way home from the competition they were rear ended and their trailer was totaled with the robot taking the brunt of the damage inside. Thankfully no one was hurt in the accident! However- Their next scheduled competition is 3/17 in Charlotte and they have just 11 days to rebuild their robot in preparation as well as source a trailer to be able to travel to the competition. We are a very small team brand new to Caldwell county this year. Because we are new, and have few members, we have limited funds for the team as it is, without these extenuating circumstances. Our team mentors and coaches are 100% volunteers and all of our funding goes toward our operating costs so that every child can be on our team regardless of their financial ability.
We are a 501c3 and rely completely on sponsors and donations to be able to build, compete, and travel to competitions.
