Please Help Finn & Beckett Have A Normal Life!

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Spencer Brassard. Most of you reading this will probably know me, but if by chance this reaches those who don't, let me introduce myself. I'm a retired Air Force veteran, a friend to almost anyone I meet, and most importantly, I get to be the Dad of two incredible young boys, Finn (10) and Beckett (8).
Finn & Beck have not had the easiest time growing up so far. I have tried to be there as much as possible, but until recently I either lived on opposite sides of the country from them, or I was only given a short summer visit every year and an even shorter Christmas visit. So, keeping up with their well-being through Facetime every week has been difficult, to say the least.
That all changed this past April when I discovered that their mother, who already had a pending DWI from an August-2022 arrest...recently received her 2nd DWI in 9 months while blowing a .29 BAC on a breath test by the arresting officer! Upon hearing this news, I immediately called my lawyer to file for an emergency custody order which we did, and we thankfully won custody!
If you've made it this far, congrats because the story gets worse from here. After assuming custody, I established them with a pediatrician and allergist to have them tested for their supposed food allergies that their mother has alleged they've had their entire lives. After testing them for allergies to wheat, dairy, soy, corn, peanut, white potato, and rice...all things they have not been given their whole lives...we were shocked to hear that they were allergic to NONE of those things! Not even a little bit! These kids have been on special diets and restricted from eating everyday things that most kids their age just take for granted, and their mother just apparently made them up!
We had them tested at Huntington Learning Center for a baseline of where they were educationally since they have never been to a public school and their mother has been "home-schooling" them this whole time. The results showed that Finn and Beckett were severely behind on their schooling with both of them testing somewhere around 1st grade. Finn, the 10-yr old, has the handwriting and pencil grip of a toddler half his age. So, very clearly they would need intense tutoring if they ever expect to catch up to grade level.

So, here is the reason I am very humbly asking for any donations that one can spare -

Both boys need over 100 hours of school tutoring in order to get them up to where they can even attend public school and expect to be with kids close to their own ages. The Huntington Learning Center near us has written up a program and has very generously discounted their fees to $45/hour. So, the total for the summer program would run us about $5,453 for Beckett and $6,718 for Finn.

If we reach our goal for the boys' educational tutoring, any additional funding over that will be used to pay for the massive legal fees I have incurred in fighting this fight. It's a shame that I even have to fight the system when anyone can clearly see the neglect these kids have been subjected to while in the care of their mother.
I currently owe the legal team over $7,200 and we still have to win the final custody case which is due to be scheduled in the Fall.

Anyone who knows me, knows how hard this is for me to ask, practically beg, for help. I am a good person, but I am hard-headed sometimes and often too proud to ask for help. But, I have reached the end of my rope. I realize I can no longer sustain this on my own, so I am turning to y'all for help.

Anything is something. No donation is too small and ALL 100% of it will go straight to the sources I have listed. All I want is for these two boys to be able to feel like normal children do and with your help, it WILL be possible!

Also, I am an open book and anyone wishing to see transaction records of how the donations are being used, or even if someone wishes to make donations directly to the agencies themselves, I will list those below.

Thank you to each and every one of you who even made it this far! I appreciate all of you for caring enough about someone else's children to make a difference!!

-Spencer
