Brief update

Friends in Gaza report that the price of flour is $500 -700.00 U.S. for 25 kg. My friends live in different areas and are unknown to one another but their experiences are consistent. Stores are intentionally targetted, merchants are targetted, availability is low and prices are so high as to seem unreal but it is real and if you can find food and if you can buy food you are a lucky person for a few days. I am sure you have seen the pictures... This is the intention of those that wish them harm and those that wish them harm remain supported. Our friends must also be supported to survive in defiance of those who wish them harm, so we have to see them through this. When those who wish them harm stop let our friends rise from the rubble and wave them good bye. This is beyond unbelievable and I think the Psyche of every just and empathetic person will be forever changed.

Gaza is shrinking. The brief pause returning to their bomb stricken IDF trespassed home has passed. They are now back in tents with literally nowhere to run. Hope runs out, food runs out, western Union is currently no more. Faisal, Haneen and the children are scared. We found a way through banking to get Faisal money which is such a relief. I understand to purchase the components to build a cookfire is 100.00 and food is so scarce the prices reflect that reality. My friends in Gaza are all talking about the very real possibility they have run out of time. When will the world step in? I h8 being in a position of such powerlessness. Please, please don't forget or abandon our friends. We are their hope and their lifeline. It must be a very lonely feeling being trapped, starved and bombed. I can't even imagine.

It's been nearly a year of running, displacement and violence. Packing up the tent and waiting for transport to the next "safe" area. Not enough time to fully set up the tent when leaflets fall again and on it went. Bullets and bombs and narrow escapes with three young children and what you can carry. I think last month it was too hot and now it is very cold. We have had to purchase warmer clothes and many supplies all over again. We have used all the funds we hoped to have to rebuild our home just to survive and replace things again. We are tired. We are very tired and donations have stopped, perhaps you have grown weary too? Please do not abandon us

Hi, my name is Heidi. I live in Victoria, BC Canada. I am asking for help for a gentle and kind friend in Gaza who desperately needs to keep his family fed and clothed in horrifying conditions, which are only worsening daily. Faisal is not asking for escape, which I would move heaven and earth to try and provide him. Faisal is asking for assistance to keep his children, his wife and himself fed, clothed and sheltered because that's a struggle which is getting increasingly difficult and desperate with every passing hour.

I did not know it was possible to break down and cry several times a day for weeks, or hoping that there has been a message, a post or an emoji left somewhere on social media when I wake every morning and I even feel guilty discussing waking because it means I have slept in a bed while I know his family do not sleep well or comfortably and definitely not peacefully.

Faisal and his family only want to eat and return home, their home has been destroyed but it is all they dream of. I am reaching out because I feel so powerless to do anything more such as return peace to his world, what he needs in the present moment is to keep his babies, his family (his world) healthy and while fighting starvation. I would like to provide Faisal funds for in the foreseeable future is to rebuild a home for his family.

I will provide 100% transparency and will keep no funds for myself. I will update and show the funds sent in full as he requests them.

"I am Faisal Hajjaj. I live in Gaza City. I am of Palestinian nationality. I have a job selling clothes, but I lost my job months ago due to the war on Gaza. I am also married and have 3 children, the youngest of whom is 9 months old. Now we live inside the camps. I lost work and money. I lost my part. The largest one in the house.. Prices here are very expensive due to the closure of the crossings between us and neighboring countries..!!And also because of the war, I cannot buy anything of the basic household supplies. Also, my children need milk and Pampers, and we need food.. but the prices are very high. It's crazy.. and we can't buy anything here.. Because of the prices and the lack of money, help me for my family and for our destroyed house.. even if just a little, we are still alive but not well..
