Please Help Erin Cannon on Her Road to Recovery

Donation protected
On Friday, January 28, Erin came home from school with a fever. She tested negative for COVID and spent the weekend hoping it would pass. By Monday, she wasn't improving, so she was taken to the Newark Urgent Care. She was examined, then immediately rushed and admitted to the PICU at Nemours Children's Hospital with multiple organ failure. Although the doctors weren't able to find a definitive cause, Erin was suffering from a potentially deadly blood infection, TSS and Septic Shock. After four surgeries and multiple blood transfusions, the skilled doctors were able to get ahead of the infection, but the damage to Erin’s lower extremities had already been done. Erin will be undergoing surgery again on Feb 18, but this time to amputate both of her feet and lower legs. This left Erin and her family in shock as they face an uncertain future.
Paul and Christine, Erin's parents, are doing all they can to help her through these difficult times. Going forward, Erin needs around the clock care, which will be Christine's main focus. The financial impact could be devastating to this tight knit family. Between the hospital stay, surgeries, therapy, co-pays, medications and prosthetics, combined with the cost of making their home accessible, not to mention that Patrick, Erin's brother, is a college student... the Cannons have a long road ahead.
THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN HELP!!! Any donation will be greatly appreciated, as it will make it easier for them to give Erin's recovery their undivided attention. In addition, Erin can use all the prayers, positive thoughts and well wishes that you can offer. Now, more than ever, she needs her friends and classmates to rally behind her as she starts the long road to recovery. Your support and generosity will give Erin the opportunity to overcome these challenges one day at a time. In Christine's words, "Erin will be needing to learn to walk and do everyday things all over again, but she is strong and determined and we have faith that she will get through this."
