Please help Emilio (Jeets) cover costs from TBI
Donation protected
On August 1st 2020, Emilio, 25 year old brother, son and uncle, suffered a traumatic brain injury that caused a subdural hematoma (bleeding in the brain). He flew Flight For Life from Kenosha, WI to Milwaukee, WI arriving at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin for an emergency craniotomy. We are incredibly grateful for Emilio's (aka Jeets) team of healthcare providers, especially his Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit nurse Hannah. In the first few days, she helped ease our minds and hearts by doing an outstanding job advocating for our loved one as if he were one of her own.
Our family stayed close by, not knowing what would come next. After 6 days in the hospital following surgery, we could breathe again...Jeets was able to come home to his mom's house in Kenosha! We couldn't be happier that his surgery was successful and that he was showing positive signs for recovery.
Unfortunately, the part of his skull that was removed during surgery (with intentions of being used again) got an infection and is no longer viable, so he will need another surgery and several months of specialized rehab after that. Over the next few weeks, as we discuss the necessary next steps with his doctors and insurance company, we’re hoping - with your help - to be able to afford the best prosthetic option for the cranioplasty.
We're reaching out to our community and beyond to ask for any donation, big or small, to help ease the stress and concerns about the extensive medical costs that come with a brain injury. In the sections below, you can learn more about Jeets, his upcoming medical procedures and where the donations will be used.
His family will continue to update this page as he progresses, leading up to the surgery and throughout therapy, so you can see the impact your kind donation has made on a young man's life. Thank you in advance for any amount that you're able to contribute to help Jeets on his road to recovery! - Emilio Prado (Jeets) & his family
