My lovely wife Ellen recently had a serious illness that required nearly two weeks hospitalization and over a month away from her job as a social worker. She was diagnosed with Babesiosis, which is a rare tick-borne disease. She'd probably been carrying it for a few months before getting very sick and needed to be hospitalized. She was also diagnosed with Sepsis while in the hospital. After release, she received at-home nursing care and physical therapy.

Even with insurance, the medical bills, prescriptions and out-of-pocket insurance payments that weren't covered by her work during her absence are approaching $5000 already. She's feeling a lot better and just returned to work but the massive bills are creating a significant financial strain for us.

So I'm asking people if they can help out. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
