Help Ella Get Life-Saving Treatment: Hope Beyond Borders
Donation protected

We're reaching out to ask for your help in giving our brave 8-year-old Ella a fighting chance. Ella Chikuruwo was first diagnosed with Wilms Tumor in November 2022 when she was just 6 years old. She fought the cancer with all the strength she could muster, undergoing surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. We were hopeful when she completed her treatment and rang the bell in February 2024 that it would be a true miracle for us all. But unfortunately in August, our worst nightmare returned: her cancer was back. Doctors here in Zimbabwe have done everything they can, and they’ve told us there’s no further treatment available locally.
However, there is hope.
We've now been accepted at a pioneering cancer treatment center in India, where a promising new clinical trial offers a new approach where traditional treatments have failed. This trial could be the key to Ella's recovery, but we urgently need your help to get her there. The costs are overwhelming - from travel and accommodation to the treatment itself and all the associated medical expenses. We're setting an ambitious target of £50,000 to make this possible, and we truly believe that with the support of our community, we can give Ella the chance she deserves.
About Ella
Ella is the light of our lives, a sweet and joyful child with a big heart, infectious smile and endless courage. She has 3 older siblings who adore her, and every day they remind her how much she's loved and needed here. She loves the cartoon Bluey, and dreams of one day becoming a Doctor.
Even in the toughest of times, Ella finds joy in the little things. She is excelling academically even though she has missed almost a year of school. Despite everything she's going through, her spirit remains unbreakable.
How You Can Help
Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to giving Ella a real chance at life. Your contribution will help cover the cost of her medical treatment in India, including:
Airfare and travel expenses for Ella and her mum
Medical treatment and trial costs
Living expenses while she's undergoing treatment
Medications and post-treatment care
If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing Ella’s story with your friends and family. Your words of encouragement and your prayers mean the world to us and give us strength during some difficult days.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading her story and considering how you can help bring her incredible light into the world for years to come.
With deepest gratitude,
Chikuruwo Family
