My name is Jen and I'm raising money to help my elderly grandma and aunt relocate from California to Arizona. My aunt Brenda, who is 80, has been my 102-year-old grandmother's caregiver for over 30 years in San Luis Obispo, CA. Brenda, unfortunately, was rushed to the hospital with a bowel obstruction and was operated on immediately. She was forced to have a colostomy bag to bypass a large mass in her abdomen, which the doctor is fairly certain is an advanced cancer. She will be in the hospital for at least 2 weeks to heal from the surgery and learn to care for her colostomy bag. Once she is more stable, she will likely undergo chemo treatments right away.

These two lovely ladies have been living very small on their social security for decades, but no one could foresee my grandmother's caretaker needing a caregiver of her own. All available family members live out of state, living paycheck to paycheck like most of you.

Our goal with the GoFundMe is to raise money to be able to afford a medical transfer by plane from California to Arizona and to help pay for in-home care. I would like them both to come live with me instead of being moved to separate care homes, (especially my Grandma, at her advanced age!) when they are stable enough to move, but in the meantime, my grandma needs at-home care until my aunt has healed enough from this first of likely MANY procedures and we can move them at the same time. Neither will be capable of sitting in a car for 10 hours, so flying is really the only option.

Any help would be appreciated - these are two tough old birds, but everyone needs help and I'm not too proud to beg!!
