Please Help Edward Franchuk Recover from Fire
Donation protected
I'm raising funds for Edward Franchuk, who lost pretty much all of his belongings in an apartment fire in January. One can only imagine how stressful such an experience would be. The items he mentions in his story below are just a small bit of what he needs to get back to life as it should be.
Please be generous. This need is immediate. Edward is a very kind man, and I know he would do everything he could if one of us were in need.
"The apartment building in which I lived burned down completely on 15 January. I lost everything except my cat, the clothes I was wearing at the time, and whatever was in the pockets. So I have to start again, from scratch. I've found a new place to live, and have ordered computer equipment, a mattress, and bedding. That has come to over $1500. Next is the kitchen: coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, electric can opener, etc.: say, another $1000. I "inherited" some furniture from the previous tenant, and a bed will arrive today or shortly after. I'm hoping to move in when the last piece of computer equipment should arrive and be connected: then I'll be able to begin laying in food. And every day reveals something else I'll need (yesterday was cutlery and pots and pans).
I am overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of people: I am blessed indeed.
Edward Franchuk"
