Please help Edu pay for his cancer treatment

Hi,

My name is Aisha and in January 2024 when our first born child was about 9 months old, his dad (Edu) was diagnosed with T4 bowel cancer and a perforated colon. It came as a huge shock to us all, even the doctors who had previously ruled cancer out and thought it was his appendix.

Within days he was taken in for emergency surgery and has been undergoing cancer treatment ever since. Unfortunately, at the time of his diagnosis he was awaiting his new visa which left him being charged for his treatment up until the point it came. He had applied for a visa long before he got sick and unfortunately, the home office had and still have a huge backlog for visa applications. When his visa arrived in June 2024, he had already racked up approximately £30,000 in debt across the two hospitals that are treating him.

As the end of the tax year is coming, the hospital have said they can no longer hold off on issuing invoices for the money owed and with a small child, we are in no position to pay such a large amount of money.

Edu is still undergoing treatment for his cancer, and the stress of this debt is becoming crippling alongside trying to get well, so we have created this fund as a bit of a last resort.
