Dear Family and Friends

By now you may have heard what's happened to Angie And Mark's dear son Dylan. He is also my nephew and godson. Dylan has braved an entire lifetime of asthma attacks and hospitalizations so he is no stranger to it. On December 18. 2021 Dylan was visiting with friend's in Crown Point Indiana. he started feeling very ill and had the werewithall to tell his friend to call an ambulance he then collapsed. He suffered a severe asthma attack, went into respiratory distress, then cardiac arrest. 8 days later on Dec. 26 a Dr made a decision to reduce his ventilation and sedatives and Dylan suffered a 2nd cardiac arrest.

Angie and Mark were told he suffered a global anoxic brain injury and his prognosis was very grim. He was on a ventilator then a trach for 40 days. With such an awful and irreversible diagnosis it was decided to remove his breathing tube. We didnt know what to expect so we all held our collective breath and hoped it would be peaceful. It is now day 54 in ICU. While Dylan is still with us he has grown so very weary and we are again hoping and praying for his peaceful transition.

He is a young man of 24 so this experience has been nothing short of brutal for his parent's, brother's and little sister. His parents were not allowed up to his room together for the first 30 days of his hospitalization so they switched off every 2 hours, one sitting bedside while the other sitting in the freezing parking lot in the running car for 8 hours a day. Once Dylan's status changed to Comfort Care then we were all allowed up together. For the last 14 days Ang and Mark have been sleeping in chairs at his bedside as this facility does not have hospice facilities.

As you might imagine this has been an enormous financial strain on Dylan's family. Being away from home ,sleeping in hotels, eating in the cafeteria or having food delivered to the hospital for close to 2 solid months. They are exhausted and beyond consolation.

Many people have asked me "what can I do to help them?" which led me here today. If you can find in your heart to make any donation that will be directly contributed to cover any and all costs relating to Dylans hospital stay and impending services we would be forever grateful. We humbly thank everyone for the calls, texts, cards, funds. and check ins.

Dylan always said "MOM I AM A WARRIOR"
......and young man you will be remembered as such.
