Hi everyone,
We are raising funds to support Cassandra (35) and her young family during an unimaginable and life-altering time.
On December 28th, while living and working overseas in Saudi Arabia, Cass suffered a sudden, unexplained cardiac arrest in the middle of the night while getting up to comfort her daughter. The event has resulted in a severe brain injury and changed their lives instantly. Early 2025, Cass and her husband Luke had packed up and sold all their belongings in Australia to pursue a dream opportunity abroad, travelling the world with their two young children — a 2-year-old girl (Pippi) and a 4-year-old boy (Finn) — and embracing adventure as a family.
After emergency treatment overseas, Cass was medically evacuated back to Australia where she has received intensive care. She has recently transferred from ICU to a neurology ward, a small but meaningful step forward. While her body is healing, the road ahead remains long and uncertain, requiring ongoing neurological care, rehabilitation, and long-term medical support.
Luke has faced the unimaginable task of holding their family together — navigating hospitals, uncertainty, and the emotional toll of suddenly becoming both primary carer and full-time parent while being by Cass’s side as much as possible. Whilst the initial extended hospital stays, specialist treatment have been covered by medical insurances and Medicare the ongoing rehabilitation and care are unknown but required for the long term and foreseeable future with costs uncertain.
The funds raised will help cover any future medical and rehabilitation costs which are not covered by insurances, Medicare and any other government support. The funds will also assist the family with the re-establishment cost back in Australia and everyday expenses to allow Luke to focus on caring for Cass and their children during this critical time, rather than returning to work immediately. We hope to ease some of this pressure so the family can focus on what matters most: supporting Cass’s recovery and being together.
No contribution is too small, and sharing this page helps more than you know. Most of all, your support reminds them they are not alone.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, love and support.
