On January 20, 2022, Drew was on his way to work at Toyota in Princeton, IN. He was involved in a vehicle accident just minutes from work where he was t-boned by a vehicle traveling at a speed of 55 or higher. He had to be extracted from his vehicle. He was unconscious at the scene and had to be intubated. He was life-flighted to the trauma center in Evansville, IN. He remained unconscious for three days, and has yet to fully regain awareness. He was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury that has required a significant hospital stay, and he will soon move to a long term facility specializing in rehabilitation for individuals with this type of head injury.

Drew is 20 years old and just establishing himself in the real world. He is now not able to work and will likely not be able to return to work for several months or longer depending on how he progresses and recovers. His mom, Kelly, had to take a leave of absence from her job as a kindergarten teacher to be with him during this time. 

Drew has health insurance, but he has lost his vehicle, his ability to work, and is incurring medical bills at an alarming rate. His family will help him get through this, but any help would be greatly appreciated as we all know how quickly a major medical issue can take away our financial security. All funds donated will be used to care for Drew, to help with his medical bills, and to help his family be with him throughout his recovery.
