Hi, my name is Michelle, and I’m starting this fundraiser to help my beloved cat, Donut, get the specialist care and treatment he desperately needs at a veterinary referral centre.
I bought Donut from a breeder online when he was only 6 weeks old. At the time, I didn’t realise how young and vulnerable he was, but it quickly became clear that he wasn’t in good health. I took him to the vet as soon as I could, where he was microchipped, vaccinated, and later booked in to be neutered once he was old enough.
That’s when our journey really began. While Donut was under anaesthetic for his neutering procedure, the vets discovered a lesion on the roof of his mouth. Since then, we’ve been through countless vet visits, blood tests, biopsies, treatments, and procedures trying to find answers and help him heal. Eventually, Donut was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex.
Over the past two years, I’ve spent thousands of pounds trying different treatments and surgeries, but sadly nothing has worked long term. Donut is currently on steroids and antibiotics, but his condition is continuing to worsen, and he is clearly in pain.
Our next step is a referral to the Willows Veterinary Centre, where specialists may finally be able to help him. The initial consultation alone is nearly £500, not including any scans, tests, or treatment that may follow.
I never imagined I would have to ask for help like this, and it’s incredibly difficult for me to do so. But after exhausting my savings and every option I could manage alone, I’m now reaching out in the hope that people might be able to help us give Donut the chance he deserves.
Donut has only just turned 2 years old, and he has spent most of his life suffering. All I want is for him to live a happy, pain-free life surrounded by the people who love him.
My son shares an especially close bond with Donut. After losing his dad last year, Donut’s companionship and comfort have helped him through some incredibly difficult times. Seeing Donut unwell has been heartbreaking for him, and all he wants is for his best friend to get better.
If you’ve taken the time to read our story, thank you so much. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and help bring Donut closer to the treatment he urgently needs. And if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser would help more than you know.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts
