Home Stretch: Help Us Pay for Donnie's Rehab!!
Donation protected
Donnie is a four-year-old kill-shelter survivor who had been abandoned at the shelter by his previous owners. He is an incredibly sweet, loving dog, but suffered trauma and abuse leading to deep anxiety and trauma responses in certain situations. The rescue under which Donnie was originally sponsored collapsed just a week after I agreed to be a short term foster, and there was no way I was taking him back to the shelter. But I also knew that ultimately finding him a forever home meant he needed to work with a specialist in trauma and anxiety. Donnie is now about four weeks out from graduation (late January) and according to his trainer he is doing amazingly well.
The total cost of the program at a significant discount is +$7000 for three months, and I have invested a substantial chunk as have others in our community. In addition, I will cover his care and vet bills until he finds a forever home. But we still need to raise $2800 more to pay for the last part of the program. He is truly a wonderful dog. I have two others with whom he gets along incredibly well--he and my other dog Lucky are in love with each other.
Please help us raise the funds needed to give Donnie the chance at a good life and long-term success.
All funds raised will go directly to Calculated Canine, a highly regarded intensive behavioral training program run by Autumn Micovich. Autumn works with dogs of all kinds that have suffered past trauma and is giving Donnie a major discount for her program. We will happily provide any disclosures requested. As per above, I am of course also contributing personal funds.
