Help Donna to Live, Laugh & Love post COVID

In October of 2020 my Sister, Donna Schappell and her husband Terry both contracted the COVID-19 virus and were hospitalized. Terry was able to fight off the virus and make it home after battling for several weeks. Donna was not so fortunate! The virus took over her body and lead to several major irreversible and life-altering complications which have directly impacted the way she will live her life. 

On March 24th she was able to finally come home. But not to her Baltimore address, in which she has lived for the last 25 years, and the place in which she raised her family. Due to Donna's condition, she had to prematurely move to her house at the beach, and formally retire earlier than expected. To some this may sound like a true blessing in disguise....but for her, Terry and the family it was a huge undertaking. Terry and Donna had always wanted to move down to the beach when they retired, and even planned on building an addition to their beach house to accommodate their retirement lifestyle. But never did they dream that they would have to move so quickly, and to do it without the financial help needed to complete the project. 

You see, Covid took a lot away from my sister! Not only will she most likely be wheelchair bound for the remainder of her life, but she has no use of her left side, and is legally blind from her battle with Covid. Her mind, humor and quick wit are still there, but the Donna all of us remember is Not. And for this, we only pray for her future.

With all that being said, over the last 9 months Terry, along with the help of many friends and family, were able to build their addition to the beach house to accommodate Donna's health needs. The build was a true struggle, and put their family into a tight financial burden. Not only did Covid ravish and take part of my sister away, but this whole horrific situation has placed a present and future financial burden on them that is beyond belief. Not withstanding the medical bills that continue to roll in from her extensive hospital stay, but also the cost of the treatment and therapy she has received from in-home nursing is staggering. There is also large price tags on the equipment, supplies, and a handicapped wheelchair assisted vehicle that they now need also looms over their heads. What I'm trying to say is that Donna, Terry and the Kids, NEED OUR HELP!

I'm asking that anyone who can find it in their heart to donate anything to assist Terry and the Kids with all the above bills, or with the basic necessities that they will need moving forward is greatly appreciated. The main goal of this GoFundMe is to raise enough money to get a used wheelchair assisted vehicle so Donna can go to the doctors, and to get out of the house. I know Terry, Brett & Zach are all able and strong willed men, and will do anything to help Donna, BUT this is something that goes beyond what they are able to do. I know we ALL want what is best for Donna and her Family. And I know they want Donna to move forward past COVID to Live her Life, Laugh throughout her Life, and to Love everyone in her Life. 

Please Help Me raise this money for Donna, Terry, Brett & Zach. I know the love people have for My Sister. I know she has touched many peoples lives through her actions, dedication and devotion to her Family, Friends and Loved Ones!
