I'm Devi .

I’m sharing this message with a heavy heart as I'm facing a challenging battle with cancer, and I’d like some help to pull me through this health journey. I've kept my story quiet for a long time hoping it would just disappear but here I am asking for some help.

Last May 2022, I had a simple check-up that turned into the unimaginable nightmare as doctors found a huge tumour. I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and watched so many areas of my life change in an instant.

I underwent a transformative surgery to get a stoma - (a colostomy is an operation to divert one end of the colon (part of the bowel) through an opening in the tummy). This alteration to my body has really affected me deeply. I tried to find ways to cope mentally with this, but I was overwhelmed with what was next.

Following this, I received extensive cancer treatments from radiotherapy and chemotherapy, all of which was not as responsive as hoped. The cancer eventually metastasised, spreading into my lymph node system. Lymph node cancer can quickly spread to other parts of the body which is why I urgently need your help.

As of May 2023 - I'm receiving a new set of treatments with the NHS to only limit the spread. This is why I need some help. If you can, please donate as it would help pay for advanced treatments in Germany (active immunotherapy options and passive immunotherapy) or possibly CAR-T therapy. This could mean me being cancer free and getting my stoma reversed.

Your contributions will also help to ease the financial burden to cover the travel costs for frequent hospital visits as I need to go in for treatments, blood tests, check-ups, periodic scans. Booking time in with a therapist is what I'd also like to do. I've bottled up my emotions and hid my story away. It’s really overwhelming and I feel I need to make proactive changes to talk to someone and not hide this away as I'm drowning in this journey.

I want to be healthy again and have a great new beginning, it’s a dream for me to reach to the point where I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm already looking for that silver lining in this and it would be amazing to turn this journey into something good later on where I can give back to others who need support.
