Please help Denver’s massive fight for life

Hey my name is Alex thank you for taking the time to read my story. My sister Denver is 26 years old and in chronic liver failure. She has a 4 year old boy named CJ. Denver was born with Biliary atresia and cirrhosis of the liver. As a baby she received a life saving operation which provided her many healthy years. She was the youngest person in australia to receive this operation which then has helped so many other young children born with the same condition to live a healthy life. This is no longer working for her and she is in end stage liver failure. On Mother’s Day Denver started to decline and took a turn for the worse. I decided to take her to the hospital (we live about an hour from Townsville University Hospital), but on our way into town I noticed Denver wasn’t doing well so I rang an ambulance to meet me half way. It was so scary. Her nose was bleeding and she had very shallow breathing. I thought I was going to lose her. The ambulance officers did a fantastic job and got her to the hospital in time. She then had to be intubated and put on a ventilator. I’m so incredibly lucky to have acted as fast as I did! She made a recovery and on Tuesday her tube was removed and she was breathing on her own. On Wednesday she was transferred out of ICU and is now in a medical ward. Denver is not getting better and requires a liver transplant. She isn’t able to get on the list for another 3 or 4 months and when she does get on it she will have to fly to Brisbane and have support people around her so she can get better. Just to make it there she needs to follow a strict high protein low sugar and low salt diet, her legs need to be elevated , she has to follow her care plan, she needs to go to ALOT of doctor appointments which are at least an hours drive from where we live & all while still being there for her child. She has such a massive fight against her. We bought her a wheelie walker so she can still walk around as she isn’t good on her feet. We require assistance to help Denver with all of this. We need some disability support equipment too so she can come back home when discharged and maybe look at moving closer to town. I can’t live without my sister. Her and I are so close. Her and I have been through a lot together and I know out of everyone in the whole world she’s the number one person to have my back and I love her so much. I can’t do this life without her. I don’t want to. CJ shouldn’t have to grow up without a mum. Denver is such a wonderful, caring, beautiful person. Prior to falling ill she was a disability support worker and a contributing member of society. But not only that, Denver is a mother, sister, daughter, friend who would help anyone who needed it. When she walks into a room she honestly does light it up ! She deserves to live ! CJ deserves to have a mum around to guide him through life. Denver is putting in the effort to try and get better to be there to see CJ grow up. Please if you could spare even just a couple of dollars to help Denver I would be forever grateful. Any little bit helps. Thanks again for taking the time to read my story.
