I am reluctant to do this but, unfortunately, feel I have no other option.

My fantastic 7-year-old dog, Delilah, recently underwent surgery to have some tumours removed (which were cancerous and life-threatening). While my insurance covered most of this, there have subsequently been complications (a wound where sutures opened and can not currently be re-sutured) this has resulted in more trips to the vet and, of course, unexpected additional costs. Every trip to the vet adds to these and I am having to now go with her regularly and am need to pay for post-operation care, medicine, further procedures and so on. Outside these problems, she is in great health and I feel I have a duty to let her fulfill her life to its natural end. I am sure anybody responsible would feel exactly the same way about their canine companion. Delilah has been wonderful to have around, especially since I became single a number of years ago, following a long-term relationship which included having a family.

Anybody in this situation might have some understanding of how difficult it is living alone in these times where everyday expenses are already a struggle to meet. While I had some savings for Delilah's operation, they have since been eaten up very quickly by these additional trips to the vet. I am now at a point where I have practically nothing to sustain her ongoing treatment and, indeed, another operation now necessary to help the fact one of her wounds is not healing. I am not comfortable doing this, but a friend suggested it might be a solution and I am now here both out of desperation and in the vain hope he was right.

Because of the nature of what Delilah is now undergoing, I do not know exactly how many more trips to the vet I am looking at right now, but I have a target figure here based on the cost of the next operation and approximately ten visits to the vet afterwards, as well as the continuing treatment.

Absolutely anything will help Delilah's cause. All donations are appreciated, regardless of their size. Delilah means the world to me. The sooner she is through this ordeal, the better. I hope it can be achieved with the help of this campaign. Thank you, Rob
