My dear friend Larry Glenn is bravely battling stage 4 lung cancer. Lungs and rib bones impacted. Metastasized. Larry is defying all statistics, by being alive and battling 18 months after diagnosis by being "healthy", and in good shape. 75% of patients with this or similar cancers are gone.
Cancer sucks! It totally devastates the cancer patient and the entire family. The sadness, grief, pain and the disruptions are overwhelming. Larry and Linda are often emotionally bankrupt, as they navigate their way along this dreadful journey. But faith and courage prevail every day. The ongoing love, PRAYERS and support of friends and family are a huge factor in Larry's journey, and in his well-being.
The mounting medical bills, co-pays, prescriptions and 18 months of treatment expenses have bankrupted them. Their medical debt is over $83,000. Their monthly expenses exceed their income by almost $3,000 now, and will ONLY increase as treatment expenses continue.
Pain management and nutrition is a huge part of Larry's well-being. Although it is believed that the cancer is NOT curable, it is manageable. Currently, 12 weeks of chemotherapy is reducing the 2 tumors, and reducing the pain levels. Not growing. Not spreading. Praise God and Oncologist. 2 to 3 120 miles trips weekly for treatment and check-ups, along with weekly labs, and chemotherapy plus eating and drinking 3x more than normal, to maintain his weight is their "normal" now.
Larry is a determined, gracious, & courageous man. A loving dedicated husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbor, who has spent his entire life selflessly "being there for and giving to others". Being there for us, in all ways, as an example and a standard to aspire to as a Godly man.
Let's all help Larry now. Let’s help this AWESOME man on this difficult journey. Their monies & savings have been completely exhausted.
Please give what you can afford to give so that the worries about money and medical bills and future expenses are not part of his days so Larry can focus on his treatments and his health. And spend quality time with his incredible family, friends and community.
