UPDATE: 6/28/2026
Hi everyone,
It isn't the news I wanted to share, but unfortunately Frosch passed yesterday after a brief period of decline. I did all that I could, bringing her to regular oncology appointments for chemotherapy treatments, giving her steroids each day, and eventually having to syringe feed her as she stopped eating on her own.
Frosch had high-grade GI lymphoma, which caused her lymph nodes in her GI tract to become massively swollen. She also had fluid in her lungs and chest, and became unable to self-regulate her body temperature.
I was at a local convention nearby checking on her from a webcam, when I suddenly noticed she had weakness in her legs, stumbling and limping until she gave up and lay on the floor. I immediately packed up and headed home, asking a friend to bring her to urgent care. It was then that they told me the sad news, that we were at the point where there was nothing I could do anymore. A vet tech friend confirmed this to me later - when a cat is unable to regulate their body temperature anymore, that is their body's way of finally shutting down.
She was simply too weak and tired to fight anymore. She'd fought for longer than most. Nine months. Most cats with her affliction live between 6-12 months. She'd outlived some of the odds. She'd worked so hard.
I want to thank all of you for granting us that time by allowing Frosch to have proper hospitalization and begin chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is insanely expensive and continued to be throughout the last nine months, costing about $600-$800 a session (even with the military discount a friend managed to get for me).
That said, I have $3,376.05 left on her CareCredit account to close out the last of her vet bills. This includes her last few chemotherapy treatments, her euthanasia, her cremation, and urn.
After I used this GoFundMe to pay off her initial hospital visit and the beginning of her chemotherapy treatments, I attempted to fund the rest on my own, but it all put me in the red near the end of her life so I had to resort to using the CareCredit card again.
If you'd like to donate to help close out her bills, it would be greatly appreciated. But if not, I completely understand. You all have done enough regardless and I cannot thank you enough for helping me when I needed it most.
If you have a pet, give them a warm hug and kiss for Frosch and me. Thank you all again for everything.
Frosch Bennett

I'll always love you 'til the end of time, my Fro Fro.
