Hello all! My name is David Madrid and I am starting this GoFundMe in an attempt to raise money for two medical procedures. I have been trying to get both an endoscopy and a diagnostic colonoscopy for several months as I have been having a lot of gastrointestinal issues.

I was scheduled to get them done in December, but when I showed up the day before the procedures, I was denied by the hospital. They failed to notify me beforehand about what I was going to have to pay and absolutely refused to set up a payment plan. My GI doctor also tried to contact the hospital stating it is a necessary medical procedure but was also unsuccessful.

My insurance will be covering their portion of the costs but I’m still needing to pay 30% including my deductible. Due to the drastic rising cost of medical care, I’m going to have to pay around $2,500 to cover my portion just to get the procedures done. Is that a lot? Sadly, yes, it is. Unfortunately we cannot proceed with treatments if we can’t see what is going on hence the need.

I fully understand that current times are very hard with the rising cost of everything, any little bit helps out tremendously. Thank you to everyone.
