Please help Dave recover from a heart attack!

Hi, my name is Dave, I am a 59 year old man, living in Crookwell, NSW I have lived and worked in the Goulburn area for the last ten years.

Some locals from Goulburn and surrounds may know me, I worked at Geissler Motors for around five years, dropping off and picking up customers, and cleaning their cars. I then worked at Daniel's Auto Group, detailing customers cars, with the occasional pick up / drop off, from May 2021 until last month.

On July 21, 2024, I suffered a near-fatal heart attack. I underwent treatment and surgery at The Canberra Hospital, and was able to return home July 25. I expected to be able to return to work on August 16, however, on August 3, I had to go back to Goulburn Base Hospital, with what turned out to be a ruptured intestine. I spent 5 nights there, and have been slowly healing since.

Unfortunately, I had to resign from my job on August 13, due to uncertainty about my ability to continue working in that field. I have applied for Jobseeker payments. to get me through until I am able to work again. This comes with a minimum five week wait (probably longer)

With all this in mind, I have had to swallow my pride and start this fundraiser in hopes that my friends, family, and community can help me out until my future becomes a bit clearer. Obviously I hope to return to work as soon as I can, but I am still recovering, and have yet to figure out what my future employment will be. In the meantime, I am very close to being completely broke, and have many things that still require payment, including essential prescription medications. As well as every day things, like travel costs to various medical appointments, rent, food, and various other expenses.

I understand that everybody is under pressure in this cost of living crisis, and I hate asking for help, but due to this unforseen turn in my health, I have no choice but to ask for help. If you're able to donate and help me out, or if you can share this fundraiser, I would be so grateful!
