On January 16, 2024, my son, Daniel McMorris, suffered horrific injuries from an attack where he was stabbed multiple times in his face and both of his ears were cut off. Daniel has been brave throughout the ordeal and has shown maturity far beyond his age. Knowing my son, he has internalized what happened and he will be dealing with the psychological impact of it for years to come.

While Daniel will need counseling as part of his recovery, it has been strongly suggested that we take him to a plastic surgeon in order to restore his appearance as close as possible to how he looked before the attack. This is why I'm here, to raise money to pay for medical procedures that will help Daniel to resume a normal life.

At this writing, Daniel has returned home after time in the hospital. He isn't ready to return to the everyday activities he was used to prior to the attack. It would be cruel for him to go to back school and out in the general public only to be ridiculed by others. That would only create another barrier that he would have to overcome.

This is my first time requesting help from a forum such as GoFundMe. I always assumed it was a service for others than myself. But I am swallowing my pride in order to make sure my son has a chance to be given back a normal life. Donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated.
