Damien and Ronnie Zegoski lost their house and everything they owned after a devastating explosion and fire at their building this past Sunday evening.
The explosion, which originated in the home next to their unit, was massive—it instantly blew out their windows and ignited a fire that quickly spread. Damien and Ronnie were miraculously able to escape the blaze physically unharmed, but they are absolutely heartbroken over the loss of their two beloved cats, Gizmo and Mojito. They were their children, and the depth of their grief is unimaginable.
The fire took hours to extinguish, resulting in the total loss of their home and all of their possessions. They literally walked away with nothing but the clothes they were wearing.
Damien and Ronnie are family to me, and I want to help them start the painful process of rebuilding their lives. While the emotional recovery will be long, we can provide immediate relief to help them stabilize.
