My name is Christine Chiarelli and I live in Lady Lake, Florida. I am raising money to assist my dear friend Dail Williams, who lives in Adelphi/Lima, Jamaica, outside of Montego Bay.
He and his family have been severely affected by Hurricane Melissa and remain without cell service, power, or running water. Their food has gone bad due to no refrigeration, and open stores are limited in their area.
I have known Dail Williams and his family for 17 years. He is the most hardworking person and professional man I know. He has never asked me for a dime. In Jamaica's poor economy, he works 6 days a week to get by with the bare minimum. The hurricane has set him so far back.
Dail is working around the clock right now to assist in the cleanup of both his neighborhood and the hotel he works at. He has been a Supervisor at Iberostar Resort in Montego Bay for the past 10 years. The hotel, which is on the water, was devastatingly damaged by Hurricane Melissa.
The US dollar goes a long way in Jamaica, and every dollar will help him to help his family and his community to rebuild.
Funds raised will be used to purchase tools such as hammers, nails, saws, wood for rebuilding, as well as for food and water. He is also in need of a generator for electricity, since it may be months before power is restored to his home.
I am traveling to the island next month in my role as a Registered Nurse to help with medical care and to assist in the rebuilding of this beautiful country that I consider a second home.
Thank you in advance for any amount that you can donate to help Dail, his family, and the beautiful people of Jamaica!
