Please help Cynthia Armour

Dear Family and Friends,

On October 24th, our beloved family member and friend, Cynthia Armour, underwent major brain surgery to have a tumor on her pituitary gland removed. For  years prior to her surgery, Cynthia was dealing with increasingly debilitating symptoms and complications,  eventually triggering her GP to test for a rare condition called Acromegaly.

Her diagnosis in early June was less than two weeks after two hernia surgeries last spring; the good news is it finally explained her premature hip replacement in 2010, progressively worsening carpel tunnel, headaches, joint pain and inflammation and set off a series of MRIs, blood tests and costly monthly injections that helped prepare her for last month's operation.  While we are incredibly grateful that the brain surgery appears to have been successful, Cynthia still needs the help and support of our family as she recovers.

Cynthia has always lived a modest life surrounded by her beloved animals on her farm, Neverdun. Professionally and personally, her priorities have focused on taking care of others. As a governance and fundraising trainer, Cynthia has long championed small, but incredibly worthy charities that struggle to compete with larger organizations. By doing so, she has quietly made a huge, positive impact on many, many lives. Cynthia has also always championed the importance of family. The Cousins-By-The-Dozens gatherings she has worked so hard to host over the years have carried on her parent's tradition and brought our  clan together in joy and celebration, forming deep connections, and enriching our lives. It is time for us share our gratitude and love by showing her the strength of our family to help one another in times of need.

Cynthia has had no income for much of this year as she has been preparing for, and recovering from, her three surgeries. Simply put, for a single woman working in the non-profit sector 2019  has been financially devastating. We can help!

By donating to Cynthia through this GoFundMe page, she will be able to focus on regaining her health, her strength and the life she knew. Together, we can make it possible for Cynthia to focus on what really matters—getting well—by raising $25,000 CAD. I hope that you will join us in this mission, so that in the years ahead as we gather together at Neverdun, we can celebrate both Cynthia’s recovery and the kindness, generosity and resilience of our family.
