PLEASE HELP CORY AND SANDY!

He gave everything to racing. Now he’s got nothing left to give.
He’s the guy who never quits.
Cory Penfold was there when the rest of the world moved on. When the gates were shut, he opened them. When the stands were empty, he filled them. When the lights went out—he made sure they got fixed himself.
He revived Willamette Speedway with his own calloused hands and a voice that could part the clouds.
And now?
That voice is almost gone.

That body, once the strongest in the room can barely stand.
He can’t eat.
He can’t announce.
He can’t even walk the grounds of the place he fought so hard to save.
He’s not just sick. He’s suffering.
And he is running out of strength.

This isn’t just cancer, it’s a collapse.

It started small. Fatigue. A sore throat. A few missed meals.

Now it’s feeding tubes, ports in his chest, overnight stays in hospitals that smell like bleach and bad news.
Now it’s pain so deep he can’t find sleep.
Now it’s Sandy watching the man she loves wither in front of her eyes, and there is nothing she can do to stop it.

Sandy. My God, Sandy.
She’s not just his wife.
She’s his nurse. His scheduler. His therapist. His driver. His voice.
She wipes his mouth when he can’t finish a sip.
She changes dressings.
She smiles when he cries so that he doesn’t feel ashamed of breaking.
She’s keeping the track alive because it’s what Cory would want.

She hasn’t had a good night’s sleep in weeks.
She cries in the shower so no one hears her.
She packs his bags, helps him dress, pretends not to notice when he struggles to breathe.
And still—still—she’s the one sending thank-you emails, returning phone calls, answering messages about tires and transponders and drivers’ meetings.
And somehow, no one sees her collapse behind the curtain.
But we see it.
And now, we do something about it.

This is rock bottom. There is nowhere else to fall.

There’s no income.

There are no more rainy day savings.
There are only bills.
Stacks of them.
And Cory, in a chair that’s too big for what’s left of him, whispering, “We’ll figure it out.”

He always figured it out.
But he can’t this time.
Not without us.

You want to know what family looks like?
It looks like this. It looks like strangers stepping up for a man who never asked for help.
It looks like five dollars that says, “I believe in you.”
It looks like fifty dollars that screams, “You carried us. Now we carry you.”

This isn’t about saving a race track. This is about saving a man’s dignity.
Giving him relief.
Giving her rest.
Giving them both a fighting chance at tomorrow.
This isn’t a story. It’s a cry for help.
If you’ve ever loved someone who was slipping through your fingers—,
If you’ve ever begged for one more good day—,
If you’ve ever sat beside a hospital bed at 2 a.m. wondering how you’d make it—

You already know what to do.
Please.
Help us give Cory the strength to face one more morning.
Help us let Sandy breathe without guilt.
Help us remind them that even now—even here—they are not alone.

Let them feel the weight of this community.
Let them feel love that’s louder than fear.

Because this fight is ours now.

Give. Share. Fight with us.

I've been welcomed into the Willamette Speedway family from the moment I reported for work on day one. I've known Cory since the mid 90's. I know him well enough to know this is not what would want.
I've had private conversations with Sandy and I know the medical bills in this fight will approach the one million dollar mark. I went against the grain on this to help two wonderful, important people- important to me, Willamette Speedway and the entire racing community.

I've put this Gofundme together to help Cory and Sandy pay those astronomical medical bills that increase every single day. I'M asking the racing community to help Cory & Sandy in this fight.
The two of them have raised funds for Shriners,
a driver that had his safety equipment stolen out the teams tow rig,
drivers families that have lost loved one,
I watched them donate the 50/50 they won back to a family that had their patriarch fighting for his life in a hospital,
drivers that had wrecks that destroyed the teams only car,
I've watched them sponsor entire race cars to drivers.
I've watched Cory buy tires for drivers who needed them and tell the driver "You did not get those tires from me!"
We've all seen them add money to purses and bonus money to enhance the show to give the race FANS a great night.…

I can go on and on.....

My point is over the last four years we've all seen them constantly do for others at the track and for the sport.

I just want the racing community to help them this time.

Please help make a donation to these wonderful people that love the drivers, teams, sponsors and fans as much as they love this great sport.
Thank you for support in advance.
