My name is Christine Holtzman (Mastrianni), and many of you know me as Corrine Bailey Doran's best friend. Corrine and I have been best friends for over 30 years, first meeting in art class as 7th graders in Marshfield, Massachusetts. Our friendship has only grown stronger over the past 30+ years.
For the past few weeks, Corrine has been battling a serious liver condition in a Jamaica Plain hospital. She's always been the toughest person I know, but right now, she needs all the love and support we can send her way.
EDIT as of 3/27/24: Corrine was in the Brigham & Woman's main hospital as well as the Faulkner satellite of B&W for a month battling a serious liver condition. She was released from the hospital on 3/23/24 and me and my daughter Leanna drove her home. On 3/27/24, she had a setback and her visiting skilled nurse thought it was for the best that she go to the hospital. 911 was called and she was brought to an area hospital. No further info is known at this time.
Positive thoughts and prayers are the most powerful medicine we can offer. Corrine needs that strength to keep fighting this fight.
While I'm just one person, I can't do this alone. I've already given some financial help, but Corrine's boyfriend, Dan (Michael's father), is facing a difficult situation. With Corrine in the hospital, Dan has become Michael's primary caregiver. He can only work when Michael is in school, making it tough to cover their regular expenses, let alone the additional costs associated with Corrine's illness (approx. 120 mile round trip transportation to and from the hospital, etc).
This GoFundMe page is a way for us to rally around Corrine, Dan, and their son Michael. The funds raised will go towards ensuring they have everything they need during this challenging time, including groceries, rent, and any other living expenses. Additionally, any funds remaining will be used to get Corrine the things she might need while in the hospital and when she is released.
Even the smallest contribution will make a big difference. Thank you for keeping Corrine in your thoughts and for any support you can offer.
To know her is to love her. If you know her, you know what I mean. She is the kindest most amazing human. She would help anyone she could before helping herself. Please let's help her now.
With love and gratitude,
Christine
