My firstborn son Grayson lives in North Carolina with his mother. We have not seen one another in nearly two years despite my attempts to visit and maintain contact. This past week I was served with termination of parental rights petition as well as a request for his step father to adopt him. His mother considers me dangerous because I encourage plant medicines, meditation and breath work. These are actually in my court documents listed as why I am not able to see him.
I am a great father. It’s something I can say without hesitation. My partner Cuqui and I have 3 children in our home, 2 of which we co parent perfectly with her ex husband, as well as a 9 month old baby girl Cuqui and I had together.
We have dedicated our lives to helping others. Our business @veteranswalkandtalk has helped hundreds find wellness and is growing rapidly. We are outspoken advocates for all things natural and healing.
I have consistently championed veteran voices and rights to heal even when it brings me negative attention like this whole situation. I have come through opiate dependence, Ptsd, TBI, and homelessness and am now thriving, fulfilled, and loving. This is in large part due to nature and the healing it provides. I will never back down or submit to anything other than my truths in these matters. I’ve come too far.
Now I need help. I have to fight this and to do that I have to hire a lawyer in North Carolina. Maintaining the family under our roof while also paying a lawyer would cripple us financially. So I humbly am asking for assistance. Help me prove that together we will continue to fight for what is right…to prove that nature provides. We can set a precedent for future parents who will face this kind of scrutiny.
I need to pay a retainer of $7500 to start work on my case and I need to do it fast. The case against me is so flimsy there is no basis for it and we are hopeful that once they see my intention to fight they will back down and we can negotiate amicably and with love for my sons sake. So we may not need all the $7500 to see this through. Whatever is left that we raise I will donate to veterans specifically to help homeless vets.
It is hard for me to ask for this help, and I plan on putting what money I can towards this as well as working hard on my business and endeavors to meet my goal.
Thank you for your time, energy, and consideration. I promise to always fight and speak up for what we know to be right.
