Please help Cole Furry with his Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Telmo and I am starting this fundraiser to help support my boss and his family as they deal with multiple hospitalizations for their 8-year-old son. All of the pieces are starting to be understood, but it looks like Cole has some type of unknown/undiagnosed autoimmune disorder.

Cole has had many ear and strep throat infections and also Lyme Disease which wasn't diagnosed for years. In 2019, he was diagnosed with PANS (Pediatric Acute Neuropsychiatric Syndrome) after he had Lyme Disease. He went from being a "normal" child to have a sensory processing disorder overnight. It took a couple of years for everything to be figured out, and he started to do well after treatment. In the summer of 2021, he had COVID and following that diagnosis, he began to have recurrent infections and still doesn't have his sense of smell back. He also had an increase in all of his sensory processing disorder issues which had almost resolved after his Lyme was treated. Whenever he was sick with any infection, these would become worse. Lyme is known to be very tough to treat and have full recovery and COVID is another unknown that disrupts the immune system in some people. This Fall he got a sinus infection and also a respiratory infection and ended up on several antibiotics and just wasn't getting back to 100%. Fast forward to this January, he fell and injured his hip. He should have bounced back quickly, but he didn't at all. He was quickly diagnosed with CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome) which was treated with PT, but didn't improve and only worsened. A rash started to appear on both of his legs and that didn't quite fit for a normal CRPS diagnosis. It then started appearing all over his body at random times and nothing could be associated with it. He went to the allergist and labs were sent which showed his immune system isn't working properly, so something else was going on.

He has gone from the running circles around everyone little boy, to a child who can barely walk. He has needed crutches, a walker and a wheelchair. He has now had two hospital stays, one with intensive physical therapy and no one can seem to put all of the pieces together. He suffers ongoing muscle spasms in that foot and is constantly saying "Ow. Ouch," even when he is distracted. It is at the point that he won't let people hug him because he says it hurts too much.

We still are awaiting a diagnosis, but it is looking like he will potentially need IVIG treatments and several specialists who are out of network for our insurance. Unfortunately, these necessary treatments are extremely expensive per session and will be needed monthly. Hopefully, his immune system will recover when all of this is figured out and this will help settle down all of the pain in his body too, but that is unknown.

I know that my boss is not the person to ever ask for money, but in a time like this, I know that it would be greatly appreciated to help offset some of the financial burdens that this can place on a family.
