Hi, my name is Kate. I am making this fundraiser for my dear friends Naomi and Edward, and their dog Clover.

Naomi and Edward are some of the best people out there, truly salt of the earth, and will be reluctant but grateful to accept our help.

Naomi adopted Clover from a family who wasn't able to keep her when she was a year old, almost seven years ago. Clover is the sweetest, most hilarious, loving and adventurous girl. Unfortunately on February 5th, Clover was diagnosed with a malignant tumor on her upper right front leg. They were told by a vet last April this was just an allergy hot spot, so to find out 11 months later it was cancer came with a lot of guilt that they weren't able to take action sooner.

After meeting with the oncologist and confirming the cancer hadn't spread to any organs, Clover went in for surgery on 2/22 to remove the tumor. She needed follow up appointments every five days to progressively close up the wound. She is healing really well, and just got a few extra stitches over the weekend. She is in a full leg cast, and still in the best spirits given that she can't go for her usual nature adventures.

GOOD NEWS is the biopsy results came back on 3/11 and the cancer was successfully removed from the tumor, and Clover will not need another surgery!!

The bad news is the biopsy revealed that the cancer is stage 2, high grade. This means that even though they got all of the tumor out, the cancer is aggressive so it has a high likelihood of recurring-- the treatment is chemo.

This is why I am making this fundraiser. So far the vet bills add up to $9,421, and the chemo and additional appointments and procedures will be another 10k+

Edward is in the process of applying to PA school, and Naomi's passion for the environment has driven her to works as a public interest attorney, holding corporations accountable for lying about climate change.

They are selfless people, who of course will do whatever it takes for their baby girl, but any amount of money will help take the financial pressure off their situation.
