Help Ciera Heal After a Tragic Act of Violence
March 31 started like any other day. My daughter, Ciera, a loving mother of two and a bright light to everyone who knows her, spent the morning laughing with her daughters before heading out for an evening with her boyfriend. What was meant to be a fun night turned into something unimaginable.
After a night out with someone she loved and trusted, an argument began between them on the drive home. That argument quickly escalated into violence. He began physically assaulting Ciera while they were still in the car. Eventually, he pulled over near a local pub, where bar patrons noticed the situation and bravely stepped in to help. In a horrifying turn of events, he opened fire—killing two people and injuring others, including Ciera.
Ciera was rushed to the hospital and placed on a ventilator, fighting for her life. She arrived in bad shape, suffering from a total of 10 gun shot wounds. Things seemed bleak but by some miracle, she survived. And as her mother, it is my duty to make sure she thrives again too.
She is now stable and safe, but her journey to recovery is just beginning. The physical toll of her injuries, the emotional trauma, and the ripple effects on our family will take time, therapy, and support to heal.
I have been by her side every moment since. I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of Ciera and Ciera’s two daughters, who are trying to make sense of what happened to their mommy.
How Your Donation Will Help:
Medical expenses and physical therapy for Ciera’s recovery
Emotional and trauma counseling for Ciera and her children
Childcare support during hospital stays and follow-up appointments
Living expenses while I care for my daughter during this unpredictable time.
Transportation, meals, and basic needs while the family focuses on healing
Ciera is a devoted mother and daughter. She is kind, thoughtful, and the kind of person who lifts others up—now she needs our help to do the same for herself and her family.
No one should have to endure what she has survived, and no mother should have to fight this hard to care for their child in the aftermath of such violence.
Every donation—no matter how big or small—makes a difference. Please give what you can, and share her story with others who may be able to help.
Thank you for showing up for us. Your compassion truly matters. And as you pray for us, please pray for those who stepped in to help as well as their families as they all try to put the pieces of their lives back together as well. Just as every dollar counts, every prayer does too and we need them now more than ever.
