Help Christopher recover from his stroke
Donation protected
Hello everyone, our son Christopher suffered a major stroke last month and is currently in the Neuro ICU recovering. Just after the fourth of July, Christopher developed a blood infection that hospitalized him for three weeks. He was finally discharged and two days later the stroke happened. He is only 24 and has already dealt with so much in his life!
He was born with a congenital heart defect and had multiple open-heart surgeries before he was 6 years old. Still, he was determined to push through all these challenges and has led a pretty normal life despite them, until now. You'd hardly know he was a cardiac baby.
After his second open-heart surgery, he visited his great-grandpa in Texas, who he instantly bonded with.
Christopher has always been very outgoing, intelligent, and fiercely independent. Even now, he keeps the nursing staff hopping so we know he can make a great recovery with your help.
Christopher makes friends with whoever he meets. He taught himself to play guitar, enjoys drawing and reading, and playing video games with his friends. He even knows sign language!
Christopher is close to his family, especially his parents.
Christopher is no stranger to health issues. He has dealt with them his entire life.
- When he was born, the doctors said he may not walk or talk, yet Chris proved them wrong.
- After his second surgery, they said he may have learning disabilities, but he proved them wrong.
- Now, the doctors are telling us these things again.
Christopher will prove them wrong.
He always surprises us with how stubborn and determined he is to do things others say he can't or won't be able to.
