Please help Christina w surgery and expenses
(Pic was taken while I was in the hospital this New Years eve trying to be in good spirits under the circumstances it was hard being away from my kids and being alone in the hospital)
Hello all,
My name is Christina. I am a single mother to three AMAZING kids. I know 2020 was a very hard time for people all around the world, and in the last year I to have dealt with my own personal struggles. I've been working multiple jobs just to make ends meet and keep up with my bills. In doing so I ignored signs that my body was going from "normally tired" to gradually pure exhaustion. I attributed this to working a lot, but in reality there were major health issues going on that brought me to where I am now.
The major problems began in May when I got sick with COVID, because my immune system was already compromised, it hit me hard and caused me to have to have to take a month off of work, because of this I lost my job. It was a struggle trying to find employment, and I had to drain any savings I had so that I wouldn't tose my apartment. Eventually I was able find employment, but because I had fallen so far behind, I was still struggling to get myself afloat.
In the last week December, I knew something was very wrong. I had been dealing with very heavy menstrual cycles over the last year, but it wasn't until I started passing blood clots that were bigger than a human hand that I realized I need to seek medical help. I was admitted to a hospital because I had lost so much blood, so much so that I had to have 3 blood transfusions. After running several test, the doctors did a D&C and found that my uterus was severely enlarged, and I have massive fibroid's and polyps growing. It was determined that I would need to have a Hysterectomy immediately, but my concern went back to what I always think of, which is HOW The heck am I gonna be able to afford this? At this time, I did not have health insurance as I was still a new hire and not yet eligible for benefits.
After a few more days of being treated I was still bleeding, but the doctors determined it was safe for me to go home. Fast forward to today and what my follow up visit with my doctor determined is that not only do I need to have this surgery ASAP, but the fibroids and polyps have increased there size in the short time I've been home. Thankfully my health insurance has kicked in and I am able to schedule the surgery. However, I will need to pay an insurance deductible, and I will be out of work for several weeks as I recover.
I have never felt myself to be in such a desperate position to where I put my very personal struggles out there for the world to read, but here it is, I am down and I am desperate.
I come to you and ask that if you can, please help me. Any donations that could help with my financial struggle as I recover would be greatly appreciated. I thank you for taking the time to read this, and any efforts whether its donating or sharing this GoFundme, just know I am forever thankful for your help.
