Please Help Chris Gaiser
Donation protected
On September 14, 2021 at approximately 430pm, Chris Gaiser was involved in a serious motorcycle crash on Somerset Street in Watchung. Chris was thrown from the motorcycle and struck a tree; the primary location of impact was his head. He was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with fractures to his skull, jaw, ribs and multiple fractures in his face. He was intubated and a procedure was performed to monitor the swelling in his brain. Chris is currently in stable condition and is breathing on his own. He will have to undergo many surgeries. The first, of many, will most likely be this weekend, to repair his jaw. He will then have a second surgery which will be to put a plate in his forehead to repair the damage to the frontal bone of the skull (forehead) which was broken at impact. After this there will be a series of reconstructive surgeries to his face and jaw. Chris is not only tough and strong, but caring and loving. Chris would give the shirt off his back to anyone in their time of need. He is a loved son, brother, uncle and brother in-law. We love him beyond words and we are asking for your help right now. As everyone knows, medical insurance does not cover every aspect of these injuries. If you can afford to donate anything to Chris's recovery we would appreciate it; and if you cannot, please pray for Chris and our family. Thank you.
- UPDATE: GoFundMe has flagged this donation page because of how absolutely incredibly generous all of you are; which says something huge about the types of people that Chris and the Gaiser family surround themselves with. GoFundMe has requested I add some information to the page, so I will do what they request and also update in anyway I can. My name is Steve Black, I am married to Meghan (Chris’s sister) and grew up in Watchung. I first met Chris in 2009 and he became my brother in-law in 2016. The donations that you all have given, thus far, will be spent on remaining medical bills and anything having to do with physical therapy rehab and/or living expenses. Lastly they require I explain how I will deliver the funds to Chris, to this I say, I pray to god I give him a big hug and hand him a check, for this exact amount and show him how much you all care for him. Thank you so much for everything.
9/17: Chris is in SICU awaiting surgeries to hopefully occur over the next week, we will keep all of his loving friends and family in the loop.
Thank you all, so much.
- Steve
