Please help Chris come home to Safe and Warm surroundings!

My name is Susan Dominguez. On December 28th, my husband Chris suffered a severe stroke. My 10-year-old son and I were with him. I called 911, and he was quickly taken to Dominican Hospital. From there, he was airlifted to Stanford, where he received a thrombectomy to remove the blood clot in his brain. Though the surgery was successful at restoring blood flow, there was significant irreversible damage. Chris was left with the right side of his body unable to move. His expressive speech was also impacted. He was able to understand speech but not express anything except for yes and no. Now, just over two weeks later, he has been growing in his ability to speak several more words and short phrases. However, he is still hardly able to move the right side of his body.

After his stroke, he stayed at Stanford for 10 days and is now at the acute rehabilitation center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, CA. He is working hard at speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy each day. I am told he will need 24-hour care when he comes home.

Our home is a two-story home, and I am reaching out to raise funds to add a shower to the half bathroom on the first level, as well as to insulate and re-roof the downstairs bedroom, which has some water damage from a leak in the roof and is about 15 degrees colder than the rest of the house because of poor insulation.
