Please Help Choo Get Emergency Surgery

Update: 9/15/23
Choo is doing SO well! Her sutures were removed this week and she is not only walking but running around - she is back to her old self! Having three legs has not slowed her down one bit. ❤️

Update: 9/3/23

From Laurie: Choo is a little champion! Lots of snuggles happening over here! SO many forever thanks to Port Orchard Animal Clinic and our beloved vet, Dr. Liz Oien - this surgery was yet another miracle of yours. Our whole family adores you!
The morning after surgery ChooChoo got right up, hopped over to her food bowl, and looked at me saying, “Feed me, mama!” just like she does every day. Her routines have always been so important to her - after I fed her, she hopped into the litterbox to pee and I put her back in her kennel to rest, thinking that was a lot already. I left the door open and went to make breakfast, turned around in the kitchen and there she was just like every other day, waiting for her morning blueberry! ❤️ She is healing really well and has become more balanced each day. Her greatest challenge is to turn circles before she poos - that one front tiny leg taking all the balancing on her turns - and she is getting it! It’s all so hopeful and heartful and Kaya and I thank all who offered your kind words and donations. The outpouring of love and support has left us in awe and tears every day. BLESS YOU! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Update: 8/31/23

Thank you SO much to everyone who donated and shared! We have been in tears all day, seeing the support and generosity pour in from all of you. Choo is out of surgery and everything went smoothly! She is at home with my mom, Laurie, and expected to make a full recovery after a few weeks of healing.
Here is a complete list of Choo’s medical costs that your donations are paying for:
I will continue to post updates on here as we watch Choo heal and recover. Again, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping my mom and Choo. It means more than you know.

Hi everyone, my name is Kaya and I’ve created this fundraiser for my mom, Laurie, and her beloved chihuahua, Choo. Choo’s front right leg is completely broken due to a tragic accident in which my mom slipped and fell outside while holding her. Choo’s leg needs emergency amputation surgery if she is to walk again or be able to live a somewhat normal life.
My mom has been quoted that the surgery and all medical expenses involved will cost about $2,500 which we cannot afford. We are absolutely heartbroken by this traumatic incident and my mom is understandably in shock right now. Choo is cherished by our whole family and I don’t know what my mom would do without her. They are inseparable.
If you have anything to spare, even a dollar, we would so appreciative. Whether you are able to donate or not, if you could please share this post and spread the word, it would mean the world to us. Choo is only 7 years old and is otherwise healthy besides the broken leg. She has so much life ahead of her, if we can just help her get the medical treatment she needs so she can walk again.
Thank you so much, I will keep you all updated on Choo and the specifics of the expenses as we learn more.
